About us
My love for sewing and fashion began at a very young age. My mom owned a bridal shop which I visited after school everyday. I watched beautiful woman coming in and trying on their dream dresses, and I knew then that I too wanted to make beautiful clothes for beautiful people. When I was in high school I started to establish a unique style for myself. I have always been inspired by traveling and music, and started utilizing sewing to pursue these passions. Out of this, came my first business called Nature Gear. I spent many years developing my talents for creating designer patchwork clothing and one of kind appliques. I brought it to its full potential and loved every step of the way, while vending at festivals from the East to West Coast.
I opened my first shop in 2012, and soon after gave birth to my beautiful
daughter Athena, by far the most beautiful creation I have ever made.
Her presence in my life inspired me to give life to my second business,
Benu Apparel. I chose the name Benu because of the symbolism
behind it, and how it really hit home with my life and the cycle of
creation. Benu means "re-birth", to "rise in brilliance", and "shine".
My vision for my designs is to make you feel new, to shine, and to
help you feel you can rise to any occasion and be true to YOU.
